GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - On Saturday, 26 February, Plettenberg Bay Pioneers advanced to the Six Gun Grill SWD Premier League final after a convincing 103-run victory against George.
They will now take on fellow finalists Knysna Cavaliers at the REC Ground in Oudtshoorn on 21 March.
Pioneers, who batted first, scored 183 all-out, thanks to a half-century by Jean du Plessis (60). Ayabonga Anthony bagged 3/8 for George. The George batting line-up failed against the Pioneers' bowling attack and the home side was dismissed for only 80.
The final log positions are:
- Knysna Cavaliers - 29 points;
- George - 28 points;
- Plett Pioneers - 24 points;
- Union Stars - 20 points;
- Harlequins Forces - 15 points;
- Sussex - 10 points;
- Mossel Bay - 9 points;
- Ramblers - 0 points.
Ramblers, who lost, will be relegated to the Promotion League.
