SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - The SWD women's cricket team will have vital home ground advantage when it takes on Western Province and Boland in the Cricket South Africa Women's Challenge on Saturday and Sunday, February 25 and 26 respectively. The matches will be played at the Bridgton Sport Grounds in Oudtshoorn.
Victories in both previous matches against Border and Eastern Province gave the SWD ladies a confidence boost and underlined the potential of this team. Annemie Koen and her team will be aiming to again apply basic cricket skills to outmanoeuvre teams that have national players in their line-ups with the likes of Allison Hodgkinson (Boland) and Shandre Fritz (Western Province).
The SWD team will be selected from the following squad: Yolandi Saayman, Mochelle May, Annemie Koen (captain), Ezrin van Aswegen, Sonet Fourie, Monique Booysen, Marnizelle Rabie, Janet Winster, Berenice Goliath, Kaylene Pypers, Michaela Andrews, Elzaan Pietesen, Thalita Johnson and Gail Abrahams.
