CRICKET NEWS - Robbie Frylinck smashed consecutive maximums off the final two balls of the match to give the Hollywoodbets Dolphins a thrilling three-wicket victory over the WSB Cape Cobras in a Momentum One-Day Cup match at Eurolux Boland Park in Paarl on Wednesday evening.
Full scorecard: Cobras v Dolphins
The Cobras seemed to have rescued a dire situation with the Dolphins cruising at 161 without loss but then Sarel Erwee (80) was run out and Wayne Parnell (10-0-45-2) clean-bowled Senuran Muthusamy (35) to spark a home side revival.
The Dolphins were left to chase 13 runs off the final six balls with Ferisco Adams (10-0-69-2) the man with ball in hand.
Adams conceded just two singles and grabbed the wicket of Calvin Savage (3) to leave the visitors needing 11 runs off the final two balls.
Adams bowled a length ball which Frylinck smashed over mid-wicket for six to leave the men from Durban needing four runs for a tie and five to win. What happened next beggared belief!
Adams bowled a full-toss – a memory of Richard Snell against Jonty Rhodes – and Frylinck launched the ball over the square-leg fence for six and then calmly walked off the field with Adams on his haunches, holding his head in his hands.
