GARDEN ROUTE CRICKET NEWS - The SWD women cricket team suffered defeats in both the limited over and Twenty20 matches in their Cricket South Africa Provincial Women's competition matches that were played against Border at Buffalo Park in East London.
As in their previous match against Eastern Province, the SWD Women narrowly lost by one wicket in the limited over match. SWD, who posted only 107, fought back with a great bowling performance by the captain, Haroline Rhodes (5/36), but Border got over the line (109/9) in the 32nd over.
SWD were outplayed in the Twenty20 clash when they were restricted for 47/8, whereafter Border surpassed the total (48/2) in the 11th over for an 8-wicket bonus point victory.
