GEORGE NEWS - The ever-popular 10km Youth Day race returns to the streets of George on Monday 16 June.
The race promises to be fast-paced with great prizes and a festive atmosphere.
Organised annually by the Nedbank Running Club SWD, the race celebrates Youth Day with support from McDonald’s, Sportsmans Warehouse, George Municipality and George Tourism.
Entries are nearly sold out and organisers are encouraging last-minute runners to secure their spot at www.entryninja.com or in person at Sportsmans Warehouse, Eden Meander Mall, and Top Gear Sport.
Entry fees are R80 for licensed club runners and R125 for non-club runners. Participants can also purchase a raffle ticket for R30 to stand a chance to win R5 000 in cash.
The first three men and women across the finish line will each receive a R2 000 gift box, with additional cash prizes for age category winners. All runners finishing within the two-hour cut-off will earn a commemorative medal.
As an extra incentive, the first 400 finishers will receive a free coffee and muffin - just one more reason to lace up and join in.
Runners can collect their race numbers and timing tags from the following places at these times:
- Saturday and Sunday 14 and 15 June: Sportsmans Warehouse, Eden Meander Mall, from 12:00 to 15:00.
- Saturday 14 June: McDonald’s Langeberg Mall from 12:00 to 15:00.
