7Weekspoort Challenge: Entries now open!

SPORT NEWS - Entries for the annual 7Weekspoort MTB and Trail Run Challenge, are now open!

This community-driven event, sponsored by Ladismith Cheese, welcomes cyclists and runners from across the country to participate in a day of adventure, dust and endurance.

Like last year, Karoo62Escapes along the R62 will host the race village.

Mountain bikers can choose between a 29 km, 43 km and an 85 km race, while trail runners have a choice between a 10 and 20 km distance. New trail running routes have also been introduced, offering participants fresh and exciting challenges.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Ladismith, participants will traverse routes that showcase the natural beauty of the region. Whether you're an avid mountain biker seeking a challenging course or a trail runner eager to explore new paths, there's a distance tailored for you.

Locals are enthusiastic and ready to support and cheer on participants, ensuring a memorable experience for all.

After the day's events, unwind at the Karoo Rocks Music Festival, featuring performances by renowned artists like Francois van Coke.

Karoo62Escapes also offers self-catering chalets just 10 km from Ladismith.

Please note that eBikes are welcome on the 43 km route; however, they are not permitted on the 85 km course. Please indicate if you'll be riding an eBike during registration.
