OPINION - George Herald is set to launch an exciting new online feature series aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs and business owners with practical, expert-driven advice.
Titled 'Business Unplugged', the nine-part series will be presented by Prof Adéle Potgieter, a marketing professor at the Nelson Mandela University's George Campus.
The series will run online weekly and is designed specifically with the business community in mind. Structured in two parts, the series will first focus on the fundamentals of building a successful business - from defining a clear identity and understanding customers to pricing, managing staff, and using time effectively.
The second part will shift to branding in the digital age, translating academic research into simple, actionable strategies to help businesses strengthen and future-proof their online presence.
Each article is written in a conversational, jargon-free style and will include practical examples relevant to local industries, making the content immediately useful for small business owners.
Potgieter, whose research focuses on digital marketing and consumer behaviour, says the series reflects her commitment to sharing knowledge beyond academia and supporting local economic growth.
