GEORGE NEWS & VIDEOS - New Councillors of the George Council are being inaugurated at the George Civic Centre this afternoon, Monday 22 November. 

The proceedings are well away and they are called in alphabetical order to swear their service to the Republic of South Africa. 

It is a big moment for all involved.

Just before the meeting started today, the DA, the Freedom Front Plus and the ACDP signed an agreement that makes provision for a coalition.

The DA does not have enough seats to govern on it's own. It is expected that Leon van Wyk of the DA will be elected mayor. 

There is still uncertainty who will be elected deputy mayor and speaker.
