SACP's Jeremy Cronin: ANC alliance under strain

NATIONAL NEWS - The South African Communist Party (SACP)’s first Deputy Secretary General Jeremy Cronin says the alliance is under strain.

Cronin was speaking ahead of the party’s congress which will kick off in Boksburg on Monday.

The Communist Party is expected to decide on its relationship with the African National Congress amid tensions with President Jacob Zuma.

They have accused Zuma and his faction in the ANC of emulating Russian President Vladimir Putin’s style of authoritarian rule.

Cronin says that they will discuss the threats facing the movement.
