GEORGE NEWS - George DA Councillor for Ward 3 and mayoral committee member for human resources, Rassie de Villiers has resigned from the George Council with effect from Friday 31 August.
Tertuis Simmers, regional secretary of the DA East Region, confirmed that they have received the letter of resignation. Simmers said he has known De Villiers for the last two terms of Council and has always found him to be capable, hardworking and conscientious.
“I wish him well with his future plans.”
Rassie de Villers declined to comment on the reasons for his resignation. The by-election in Ward 3, Heatherlands and Heather Park, will take place on Wednesday 24 October.
