GEORGE NEWS - At long last the new George Council is having its first meeting on one of the wettest days the town has experienced in years.

The meeting started at noon, after being postponed twice over the last two weeks. 

Since George will have to be governed by a coalition government - the DA did not achieve an outright majority - it will be interesting to see how things will unfold in the next few hours.

New and old faces are gathering with a sense of hopefulness and excitement.
