Children no longer need unabridged birth certificates for leaving and entering the country, department of home affairs announced this week.
They would now have to travel with a passport containing printed details of both parents, said home affairs director general Mkuseli Apleni.
“Home affairs is working jointly with the national department of tourism to ensure the regulations are amended accordingly,” he said.
Apleni said the department remained committed to easing travelling regulations.
“We are hard at work to fully implement these concessions, understanding this to be in the interest of the country, its citizens and other persons.”
