The Egyptian national who hijacked the plane and forced it to land in Larnaca in Cyprus was arrested, and all 81 passengers released unharmed.
Among them was the Archbishop of Johannesburg and Pretoria his Eminence Damaskinos as well as Bishop Nicodimus Boulaksis.
A trip to Egypt didn't end as expected for Bishop Boulaksis and Archbishop Damaskinos.
They were among the first group of people to be released by the hijacker, who forced the plane to land in Cyprus.
But they were questioned for several hours before their passports were returned to them, so that they could book a flight home.
