Majority of post office workers to strike this week

NATIONAL NEWS - The Communication Workers Union (CWU) says 90% of the South African Post Office’s (Sapo) workforce will go on a strike over salary increases this week.

The union, which representsthe majority of the workers, says they have not received a salary increase in the last three years.

The post office's new CEO Mark Barnes has raised concerns over the move, warning the impact of yet another protracted strike will be extremely damaging.

But the CWU’s President Clyde Mervin says workers have no other choice.
