Police minister calls on Malema to lay complaint against police

NATIONAL NEWS - Police Minister Nathi Nhleko has called on Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema to lodge a complaint with the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) after claiming that officers harassed him.

Malema claims he was followed by an unmarked van which pulled him over at Grayston Drive in Sandton, and at least 10 armed cops surrounded him last night.

Nhleko says the only way the police can get to the bottom of the allegations is if he opens a case.

But the EFF Commander in Chief has not reported the matter to authorities, saying police won’t be taking it seriously anyway.
