NATIONAL NEWS - - National Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams says his silence does not mean that no work is being done by the National Prosecuting Authority.
Abrahams is appearing before Parliament’s justice committee, where he and his team are presenting feedback on their performance between April and June this year.
Abrahams told the committee he’d noted questions about his whereabouts.
“There have been media reports with some asking where Shaun Abrahams is or where is the National Director of Public Prosecutions. Firstly, my silence does not mean no work is being done. Secondly, in terms of the NPA Act and the Constitution, I’m obligated to report to this committee, to Parliament.”
Abrahams says that the leaked Gupta emails form part of an eight-leg investigation by the Hawks into the Public Protector's State of Capture report, with which the NPA is assisting.
