KZN policeman shot dead with his own firearm

NATIONAL NEWS - Another police officer has been shot and killed, this time with his own firearm, this time in Phoenix in KwaZulu-Natal.

Provincial police say the officer and a colleague were searching a suspect's house earlier today when three criminals overpowered them and took their service pistols.

The officers were tied up in their official vehicle and driven to another location where they were shot.

One was killed while his partner was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.
