Mayor Patricia de Lille says the project has been a major learning curve, but an innovative way to raise the money needed to address the city’s infrastructure needs.
Mayoral spokesperson Zara Nicholson says: “In line with the city’s organisation and transformation plan, governance principles and to enhance gazillions and sustainability, green bonds will certainly be the way forward to finance projects.
“Going into the future, we’ll go greener because we have a duty to protect the planet, to build sustainable cities and reduce our carbon emissions.”
