NATIONAL NEWS - Four people were left in a critical condition and 26 others sustained minor to serious injuries when two taxis, a truck and a bakkie collided in Nietgedacht, north of Johannesburg, this morning, Friday 22 February.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, emergency services arrived on the scene at approximately 08:00 to find two taxis and a truck in the middle of the road and a bakkie on the side of the road in a ditch.
“Numerous passengers from the taxis and bakkie were found scattered around. One of the critically injured patients was airlifted to Busamed Modderfontein Hospital by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter. The remaining patients were transported by ambulances to various hospitals for further treatment,” he said.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
