Suzuki Ignis and Baleno upgraded with new infotainment system

Replacing the previous arrangement, the new Smartphone Linkage Display Audio (SLDA) unit measures seven-inches and comes with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink, as well as voice commands and ability to be controlled via each model’s multifunction steering wheel. In addition, the system also doubles up as a display for the new reverse camera.

Available only on the top-spec GLX versions of the Ignis (top) and Baleno (main), the SLDA commands a R3 000 price hike over the previous system, and comes as the sole update with motivation, in the Ignis, still coming from a 1.2-litre petrol that produces 61 kW and 115 N.m of torque, while in the Baleno, the free-breathing 1.4-litre four-pot churns out 68 kW and 130 N.m. Standard on both models is a five-speed manual gearbox with a four-speed automatic being optional.
