Pulled as a result of falling sales and the increasing popularity of crossovers / SUV, the discontinuing of right-hand drive production also sees the Jetta  ending a near 40 year market run in South Africa, which included being locally assembled at Volkswagen's Uitenhage Plant until 2011.

Although not expected to debut as a station wagon anytime soon, Brazilian render artist Kleber Silva has hinted what a possible Jetta Variant could like with a pair of seemingly production ready depictions.

While the front remains essentially unchanged all the way to the C-pillar, the sedan's fastback appearance makes way for a rounded facia derived from the Skoda Octavia Estate, albeit with a less sculpted rear window and taillights derived from the new Audi A8.

Despite Volkswagen having previously produced the Jetta as either a sedan or estate, the relative unpopularity of wagons in the US relative to SUVs could result in it remaining a render for the foreseeable future.
