According to a new report by Britain's Auto Express, the rumoured new model, to have been called Monza X, has been placed on hold with both brands reportedly citing the write-up of their respective business plans as the main reason.
Claimed to have featured a "dramatic exterior" and ride on the same platform as the Insignia Grand Sport, the Monza X, according to former Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann, would be built in Russelsheim and supplement the Insignia "for those who also want an SUV".
If the project were to be given the green light, expect the Monza X to make use of PSA's EMP2 platform, and, like the Grandland X and smaller Crossland X, a range of engines shared with the Peugeot 3008 and bigger 5008.
