Pictured on what appears to be a factory floor and with styling slightly altered from the concept shown at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este last May, the somewhat hazy images also suggest the model in question to be a 850i, with a further badge denoting it being equipped with xDrive all-wheel drive.
As it rides on the same CLAR platform as the 5-and 7-series, expect the engine powering the model in question to be the same turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine as the 750i, that produces 330 kW and 650 Nm of torque, hooked to a eight-speed Steptronic gearbox.
One of the nomenclatures trademarked back in March, the Munich based automaker is also expected to unveil the even rapid M8 soon after, previewed in race spec GTE guise at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with power either coming from the M5's 441 kW / 750 Nm 4.4-litre V8 or the M760Li xDrive's 6.6-litre V12.
