According to Automotive News Europe, an unnamed Opel/Vauxhall spokesperson remarked that the decision stemmed from the brand wanting to “put a stronger emphasis on our own events for the upcoming product launches” and that it would only return to motor shows “when it makes business and communications sense”.
One of the biggest events in Europe along with the Frankfurt Motor Show, Opel/Vauxhall’s absence from Paris will bring the number of manufacturers skipping the French showpiece to 12 following withdrawals from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), Volkswagen, Nissan, Ford, Volvo, Mazda and Mitsubishi as well as premium marques Aston Martin, Bentley, McLaren and Rolls-Royce.
