Somewhere around 130 competitors with their crews, a couple of dozen officials and about 500 paying spectators had a great day in motorsport. Everything went according to the programme, except for a 20 minute delay when EljoStigling bounced his Ford Focus ST through a ditch and into a bank early on in the day. Nobody was hurt and things soon got back to normal.
Dezzi Raceway is a splendid venue for an outing, where spectators can bring coolboxes, braais, food and chairs without let or hindrance while they watch some exciting motorsport. The pits are open to all, which is a breath of fresh air in this day and age, and there are now plenty of ablution blocks around the circuit.
The next meeting on 4 March will hopefully bring some cooler weather. To keep up with future plans and events visit www.kznrrc.co.za or pop in at the KZN Road Racing Club or Dezzi Raceway Facebook pages.
