Based on the same underpinnings as the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, the E-Pace takes visual inspiration from both the bigger F-Pace and all-electric I-Pace, and measures 4 395 mm in overall length with a wheelbase of 2 681 mm, which Jaguar claims translates to a luggage capacity of 577-litres or 1 234-litres with the rear seats folded flat.

Depending on the model selected, the E-Pace will feature items such as the 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system with 4G Wi-Fi, colour Heads-Up Display, up to five USB ports and driver assistance tech such as Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Torque Vectoring, Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist and 360 degree camera system.

In a break from tradition, the E-Pace will be offered in four trim levels, with all bar the base being monikers used by sister brand Land Rover, namely S, SE and HSE. On top of this, buyers can specify the R-Dynamic Pack that adds a model specific body kit, gloss black grille, dual chrome tipped exhausts, satin chrome air vents, R-Dynamic branded tread plates, alloy pedals, a R-Dynamic steering wheel with gearshift paddles, Luxtec and Sportmesh seats with contrasting stitching and front foglights.

As well as an optional Black Pack that consists of a gloss black grille, side vents, window surrounds and 20-inch alloy wheels, a First Edition model with bespoke interior and exterior trim finishes will be offered on certain models.

Underneath the bonnet, the E-Pace will offer a choice of a single turbo-petrol or turbodiesel Ingenium engine both displacing 2.0-litres, but in various states of tune with the former serving up 183 kW / 365 Nm in P250 guise or 221 kW / 400 Nm in P300 form and latter 110 kW / 380 Nm (D150), 132 kW / 430 Nm (D180) and 177 kW / 500 Nm (D240).

Regardless of engine, a eight-speed automatic is standard across the range with drive going to all four wheels. Fuel consumption ranges from 5.6 L/100 km for the D150 to 8.0 L/100 km for the P300, with top speeds from 193 km/h to 243 km/h.

A five year / 100 000 km warranty, maintenance and service plan are standard on all models.
