While heavily toned down from the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept shown in Busan earlier this year, the image uploaded by Auto Review still sees the Palisade taking inspiration from both the Kona and Santa Fe, with the latter in particular serving as the most prominent styling guide when viewed from the front.
Highlighted by a chrome finished Cascading Grille, the dual headlight arrangement, which is less polarising than that of the Santa Fe, extended wheel arches and a rear profile behind the C-pillar reminiscent of the first generation Cadillac SRX, the Palisade is expected to feature an interior not dissimilar to its mentioned seven-seat sibling, with the same likely to apply to the rear.
Still the subject of speculation, the Palisade, which shares its underpinnings with the Kia Telluride, will likely come powered the 213kW/341Nm 3.3-litre V6 used in the US-spec Sorento, or even the 272kW/510Nm turbocharged version of the same engine that powers certain Genesis models as well as the Kia Stinger. Also being mulled is the normally aspirated 313kW/520Nm 5.0-litre V8 and reportedly a straight-six turbodiesel.
As previously reported though, the Palisade is not expected to be offered in South Africa anytime soon as it will be strictly left-hand drive.
