Whittled from an initial list of 38 contenders, the incoming 55th edition of awarding the best car on the Old Continent comes just over two months after the reveal of the World Car of the Year candidates, and weeks following the reveal of the list of ten models that will battle it out for South Africa’s next car of the year.
For the next two months or so, the selected models will undergo a number of tests with the winner being announced on March fourth at the Geneva Motor Show.
In alphabetical order, the seven finalists are:

- Citroen C5 Aircross
- Ford Focus
- Jaguar I-Pace
- Kia Ceed
- Mercedes-Benz A-class
- Peugeot 508
