Building on the updates applied to the standard model introduced in July last year, the S swaps the chrome Singleframe grille for the matt black titanium example offered on S line model, but with a honeycomb design affixed with the TTS badge. In addition, the S also gets a tweaked front bumper with satin silver horizontal blades on the side, a full-length front splitter, new rear diffuser and quad exhaust outlets.
Like the standard TT, the S can be had in two new colours, Pulse Orange and Turbo Blue, and while wheel sizes now range from 18 to 19-inches with Audi Sport 20-inches being optional, the interior changes are reserved for a model specific display on the Virtual Cockpit Display dashboard and S sport seats with contrasting stitching.
New though is the TTS Competition which receives a fixed rear spoiler, high-gloss black 20-inch alloy wheels, standard LED headlights, red brake calipers, the Audi four rings logo laminated on the door sills, gloss black exterior detailing and a choice of three bespoke colours, Glacier White, Mythos Black and Tango Red.
Unlike the normal TTS though, the Competition’s interior has been updated more extensively with a choice of Ebony leather with contrasting Red Express stitching or Express Red leather with Granite Grey stitch work, carbon fibre inserts, Slate Grey Chrome or Tango Red gloss finishes on the seats and centre console, red air vent surrounds and an Alcantara wrapped flat bottom steering wheel with red 12 o’clock marking.
Up front, the TTS retains its predecessor’s 2.0 TFSI engine, but with a torque hike of 20Nm for a total of 400Nm with power remaining unchanged at 225kW. Again limited to 250km/h with the 0-100km/h dash taking 4.5 seconds for the coupe and 4.8 seconds for the Roadster, drive is once more routed to all four wheels via a seven-speed S tronic gearbox with Audi’s Magnetic Ride Control system standard.
While still to be confirmed for local introduction, pricing for the TTS in Germany starts at €54 400 (R871 053) for coupe and at €57 200 (R915 887) for the Roadster.
