Called the F8 Tributo, the latest two-door, mid-engine berlinetta from the Prancing Horse is said to be an improvement in nearly every area over its predecessor, as well as being 40kg lighter at 1 330kg and featuring a 10% gain in aerodynamics.
Measuring 4 611mm in overall length and with a width of 1 979mm and height of 1 206mm, the F8 boasts an evolutionary look of the 488’s styling, but comes with elements from the 488 Pista such as the S-Duct that is claimed to aid downforce by 15% on its own accord. Inside, the interior is all new with the fitment of a new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, new steering wheel and a redesigned dashboard, door panels and transmission tunnel.
Although Ferrari has not divulged any further details regarding the F8’s dynamics, it has revealed that power will come from the 488’s twin-turbocharged 3.9-litre V8, albeit with an output of 530kW versus 493kW, with torque rated at 760Nm, a 10Nm jump over the 488. According to Ferrari, the F8 will complete the 0-100km/h sprint in 2.9 seconds, 0.1 second faster the 488, and top out at 340km/h, a 10km/h greater V-max than its predecessor.
Expect more details to emerge in the coming days.
