GEORGE NEWS - Youth in Action, a Thembalethu-based movement seeking to address social ills in the community, will be hosting a youth dialogue this Saturday, 28 September.
The dialogue will take place at the Thembalethu Community Hall, near the old clinic at 09:00. According to the organisers, a variety of issues affecting the youth will be discussed.
Youth in Action will host the event in partnership with various stakeholders such as the Department of Correctional Services, the Department of Social Development, Amavula-ndlela Association, Inkcubeko Youth Centre, the South Africa Police Services and the Department of Education.
Young people will be given the chance to be heard and to pose questions to the relevant role players.
Stakeholders will exhibit services that are essential to youth development. Youth in Action was started in June this year after young people decided to take a stand against youth violence, crime, substance abuse, gender-based violence and gangsterism in and around Thembalethu.
At the time they staged a peaceful walk through the streets of Thembalethu to highlight their plight.
