Wear your tekkies for a good cause

GEORGE NEWS - It is that time of the year again when you can kick off your high heels, school shoes or boots and swap them for a comfy pair of tekkies.

The best part: it is all for a good cause. Friday 29 May is Tekkie Tax Day.

All you have to do is choose the sector you want to support and yes, you can choose more than one:

Basic Family Care
Children
Disability or
Education

Get your R10 sticker and wear your tekkies. Get stickers and 'Tekkie Tags' from People Against Substance Abuse (Pasa) by calling Freddy Trout on 071 090 4450 or Wayne Windvoël on 083 564 3737, they will also deliver to your doorstep.

You can also get stickers from Scotty's Pet Shop, Pennypinchers, Diskonto Stationers, Cecile Steyn Physiotherapists, Tip Top Jewellers, Sport Centre, Margot Swiss International, Pick n Pay Family Store and Property Professionals.

Michael Lindt supports all five sectors this year through Pasa because he believes educating pupils and parents about the dangers of substance abuse is crucial.

The campaign is endorsed by 16 of the biggest and most accountable national NGOs in the country, representing more than 1 500 local organisations.
