GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - George Municipality issued a statement this afternoon, Saturday 5 August, about reports of a washed out whale carcass at Kleinkrantz beach.
According to the municipality, due to the change in tide, authorities might have to postpone the removal of the animal till tomorrow morning.
The municipality asked the public to remain patient and stay clear of the area while authorities do their job.
A resident of Kleinkrantz who wishes to remain anonymous told George Herald that it is suspected to be an old carcass that had been buried before and that has been washed open again.
The resident said SANParks has been notified of the carcass.
George Herald is awaiting comment from SANParks.
