Embers have spread around the burnt area.

GEORGE NEWS - A strong south-westerly wind gushed through the affected area. There are no open flames yet, although embers have spread around the burnt area. 

Careful monitoring of the situation and mopping up will continue throughout the night.

All crews including Garden Route District Municipality and the Working on Fire extension will remain on site until the wind (hopefully a pre-frontal wind) decreases.

The WoF team will remain at the site until 22:00.
