GEORGE NEWS - The planned EFF march to the George Hospital in support of the party’s national public healthcare campaign, will take place on Thursday.
Social media and WhatsApp groups were abuzz over Easter weekend warning people of the pending march taking place today, Tuesday 3 March. The agreement reached in terms of Section 4(4) of the Regulation of Gatherings Act 205 of 1993 signed by all concerned parties on Thursday 29 March, states that the march will take place on Tuesday 3 April.
But, EFF Southern Cape Regional Coordinator Diswayne Maarman, told George Herald that the march has been rescheduled for Thursday 5 March.
Maarman said they have informed the CEO of the George Hospital, Michael Vonk via e-mail of the postponement.
In February, the EFF declared 2018 the year of public healthcare undertaking to raise awareness on the poor condition of state health facilities.
EFF Commander in Chief Julius Malema is coming to George this week and will address supporters at the Thembalethu Stadium on Friday 6 April.
