GEORGE NEWS - This month's U3A meetings start at 10:00 on Wednesday 14 September with an audiovisual presentation by photographer Chris Daly on his visit to the United Kingdom.
On Friday 16 September a new series will start, called "Treasures in your home". This involves members giving short talks on items such as Dalton Lambeth ceramic ware, Bushman hunting gear and George's own fairy artist, Ruby Reeves.
Tea will be at 10:00 and the talk starts at 10:30.
At International Affairs at 14:00 on Monday 26 September, Natie de Swardt will lead a discussion on the foreign policy of South Africa.
On Wednesday 28 September, director of investments for Sanlam Private Wealth Alwyn van der Merwe will present "Headwinds for the global economy and its impact on the financial markets".
Van der Merwe has 32 years' experience in the financial services industry.
Tea is at 10:00 and the talk starts at 10:30.
