GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The skipper and co-pilot of boat S46, Phillip Marais (37) and Wikus Claassens (37), both from Secunda, ended up on the rocks after departing this morning, Friday, 29 December, from Santos Beach in Mossel Bay on their way to Stilbaai.
Today is the second leg of the 2023 Six Gun Grill Trans Agulhas Challenge.
Two members of NSRI station 15, Mossel Bay, Bronwynn Weilbach, and Marinus Goulooze, swam in to bring them ashore. Fortunately, both Marais and Claassens did not sustain any injuries.

They completed the standard race yesterday with a time of 3:51:12, but unfortunately, the race ended for them today. They both race for Roundtable 231 Secunda. The boat will be retrieved on low tide.
