GEORGE NEWS - As part of Public Service Month, this year’s annual George Thusong Annual Week is taking place from 19 to 23 September 2022.

The theme is Batho 'Pele Revitalisation - walking the talk'.

Activities presented during this week, were aimed at addressing socio-economic challenges and unemployment through government initiatives and programmes that shine the light on opportunities provided to young people and people living with disabilities, as well as the community at large.

Unemployed Georgians came out in their numbers this week to the Thusong outreaches at Lawaaikamp and Parkdene community halls, eager to learn more about job, business and further education opportunities.

The outreach was also held in Conville and Pacaltsdorp with the closing ceremony at the Thembalethu Thusong Service Centre on Friday 23 September.

The week was presented by South Cape TVET College, George Municipal Youth Development, George Municipal Thusong Programme, office of the Consumer Protector, Government Communication Information System, National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Department of Employment and Labour, Cell C, and the Accelerator Programme.
