GEORGE NEWS - Two people were arrested in connection with two unrelated murders in Thembalethu on Saturday 15 June.
The first incident took place at about 02:00 in Nqwemesha Street, Zone 9. According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the body of a 49-year-old man, was found in a yard.
The victim, Daniel Nyundu, had sustained an open wound to the chest and was declared dead by paramedics at the scene.
A suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and was scheduled to appear in court this week.

At about 08:45 the same day, police were called to the George Provincial Hospital after a victim (17) died as a result of injuries sustained during an assault last month.
"Preliminary investigation indicates that the boy was admitted to hospital on 5 May with head injuries believed to be inflicted by a blunt object. He was later transferred to a hospital in Cape Town for further medical care. He returned to George on 13 June where he was hospitalised until his death," said Spies.
