GEORGE NEWS - The George Municipality, in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT), will host a supplier indaba and open day from 15-16 July at the George municipal town hall, Civic Centre, starting at 09:30 each day.
This initiative aims to equip current and prospective suppliers with valuable information on how to do business with the state-owned entities (SOEs) with a footprint in the Garden Route region.
The event prepares suppliers for business by furnishing them with technical support, whilst creating access to the market through a buyer-meet-seller platform.
This includes:
• Learning from the SOE/ SOC entities and their supply chain processes;
• Ways to gain a competitive advantage and submit winning bids;
• Interaction with the compliance organisations, bodies, and ways to overcome the compliance challenges.
Day 1 - supplier indaba
On the first day, this event will enable SMMEs to overcome challenges and to leverage opportunities available to them. It will also focus on how they can expand their offering to more supply chain markets.
Day 2 – supplier expo
A mini-networking session and interacting with stakeholders in an exhibition style for local businesses to visit buyers and support institutions. Businesses will have the opportunity to ask buyers questions about their processes and to make themselves known. The buyers, in turn, can build a base of reliable, tried, and tested SMME suppliers.
This event presents a unique opportunity for local businesses to interact with stakeholders such as Acsa, SANParks, Cape Nature, Western Cape Provincial Treasury (CSD), CIPC, ATNS, DEDAT and other organisations.
Businesses interested in attending are encouraged to participate and take advantage of this vital resource.
