GEORGE NEWS - Six learners from George excelled in the Wow Provincial Spelling Competition held last weekend in Wellington, securing a spot for the nationals which will take place on 28 September in Stellenbosch.
Outeniqua Primary's Nathan Wooff (Grade 6) achieved a remarkable first place in his section, and Psalm van Wyk (Grade 5) received an impressive second place. Both these two learners compete in the English section of the competition.
At Laerskool George-Suid a total of four learners joined the ranks and will compete in the Afrikaans section of the Wow National Competition next weekend.
They are Juhan Joubert (Grade 2) with an incredible first place; Sammy de Kock (Grade 7) who secured a fourth place; Ruben Grobler (Grade 2) with a third position and Emily Badenhorst (Grade 1) with a fourth position.
Rozelle du Plessis of Outeniqua Primary wished the learners best of luck at the nationals, saying they are incredibly proud of all the learners who represented our district at the provincials.
