The 10th Eden Karoo Expo for Young Scientists kicks off on Friday 26 July, when learners will have the opportunity to exhibit their projects. Judges will award points for the content of the projects and conduct personal interviews with the participants on Saturday. Winners will be nominated in 13 categories.
The public is invited to view the exhibition on Saturday 27 July from 12:30 at Outeniqua High School's Volschenk Hall.
This regional competition of Escom celebrates a decade of innovation and ideas from learners across the region, carefully honed and developed by experts.
The structure of this year's competition looks somewhat different than usual. Learners were required to participate in various district expos to secure a place in the regional competition. Here, projects that meet the requirements have been identified and invited to participate in the regional meeting.
"We are looking forward to the approximately 100 projects from the region that have been invited to the event," said Sonet Strydom, administrative assistant.
