GEORGE NEWS - Expanding membership has seen the Outeniqua Scale Modellers Group move to the George Museum.
With over 14 members, coming from Knysna in the east to Mossel Bay in the west, the museum has now become their new home. The group aims to help modellers across the region.
"The museum meeting room serves our purpose: light and airy with plenty of room for new members," says chairman Colin Burgess. "The museum has also given the group access to a display cabinet and over the next few months this will see a permanent display of static fine scale models of all types. The group is now also part of the Friends of the George Museum."
While most of the members model in plastic from construction kits, other mediums are actively encouraged.
The group meets on the last Saturday of each month, starting at 13:30. They also have a mid-month "build night", where members chat and build their current creations.
For more information on the group, contact Colin Burgess on 082 852 2586 or colin.burgess@global.co.za.
