GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - The protest march from Thembalethu to the George Municipality, Magistrate's Court and Department of Education has started.
The marchers are now slowly making their way in to town.
The march is led by Thembalethu priests.
There is a heavy police presence at the traffic lights in Nelson Mandela Boulevard.
According to journalists on the scene, all is calm.
According to the George Municipality, there are reports of about 120 protesters and 10 taxis taking part.
Various schools in town will close earlier today as a result of the protest action.
The protest march, about service delivery, will impact the entire GO GEORGE bus service and most routes.
The bus service will be operational, keeping to the normal schedules as far as possible, but delays must be expected on all routes for the duration of the march.
