GEORGE NEWS - The Conville and Thembalethu police stations are asking for the public's assistance in tracing the next of kin of two unidentified deceased persons.
On Saturday 21 December 2024 at 16:25, police were dispatched to a scene along the N2 highway near the turnoff to Pacaltsdorp, where a pedestrian was hit by a motor vehicle. According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, the man sustained multiple injuries, to which he succumbed later in the hospital.
The deceased, believed to be in his mid-twenties, weighed 55 kilograms and was dressed in a yellow shirt and a green trouser at the time of the incident.
A culpable homicide docket was opened for further police investigation.

In an unrelated matter, Thembalethu police opened an inquest docket after the body of a man was found in an open field near the Thembalethu primary school on 7 December 2024 at about 13:40. A post-mortem was already conducted, and no foul play is suspected. The man was dressed in a white shirt and black pants at the time of the discovery.
