GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT NEWS - Bitou (Plettenberg Bay) mayor, Peter Lobese announced last night that he had tested positive for Covid-19.
“Last week, Thursday 25 June, I had a terrible flu and decided to visit my doctor," he said.
"I was taken for a Covid-19 test and ordered to isolate until I receive my results. I did as I was ordered by the doctor and withdrew myself from all my responsibilities whilst retreating to the comfort of my room at home."
He received his results on Tuesday afternoon, June 30.
"I will now go and fight hard to make sure I recover from the virus. I am committed to stay in quarantine and make sure that I do not spread the virus further,” he said.
