GEORGE NEWS - The pit bull terrier puppy that was stolen earlier this morning, Thursday 24 June, has been found and is safely home.
Hazey, a pup of merely a couple of weeks old, was stolen by two men from her owner's yard in Newton Street, George South, at approximately 09:20.
According to the owner's sister, Natalie Wilson, a Samaritan from Groeneweide Park, Adam Plaatjies, bought the pup from two men who were selling her next to the road.
"He saw the post on George Herald's Facebook page and phoned me to tell us Hazey is safe with him and we can collect her. He was so nice, he even gave her a bath and some food. We are eternally grateful to him.
"Thank you to everyone who shared the posts and WhatsApps, and those who were willing to help us look for her. A very special thank you to Salomé Bruyns from the Spca who went out of her way to search for Hazey," said Wilson.
