GEORGE NEWS - A woman (45) from Touwsranten and her son (28) will appear in the George Magistrate’s Court later today following their arrest on Saturday 21 August after dagga and tik were found in their possession.
They are currently being detained in the holding cells in George after being charged with drug dealing.
Police had obtained a search warrant after receiving a tip-off from residents in the area. During the search of the suspects’ home, 230 grams of dagga and 10 grams of tik were found.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie, the drugs were destined for distribution in Touwsranten.
Eden Cluster Commander Maj-Gen Oswald Reddy commended the members for their efforts to rid the streets of drugs and encouraged them to continue to work closely with communities to enhance their safety. He also promised that such operations will continue in order to create a safe haven for communities.
