GEORGE NEWS - The Crawlers and Crowns model academy students have launched a number of their own fundraising events to cover their participation costs in the Miss/Mrs/Mr Western Cape competition on 24 July in Cape Town.
The models are also doing their part to give back to the community and got together to donate blood at the Western Province Blood Services in George on Thursday 27 May.
"It was quick and painless. The staff was very accommodating and received us with a warm welcome," says Karen Gray, owner of the academy.
"We would like to invite everyone in the community to donate blood as the reserves are low and it is up to us to make a difference for our loved ones and those in need of blood transfusions. The motto of the day was 'Donate blood and save lives'."
Gray thanked the Western Province Blood Services in George for their service and dedication.
On 28 May the models from George and Mossel Bay visited Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need (Odin) to do their bit and raise funds and donations for the animals during the Abbi Geldenhuys Academy of Ballet / Odin 5km Family Colour Run.
