GEORGE NEWS - Resurfacing of the Market - and Merriman Street intersection will impact road users during the period from 13 to 14 February.
Service disruptions
Municipal services may be disrupted during this period due to construction activities. Whenever possible, advance notification of temporary disruptions will be sent out via the municipality's social media.
Traffic impact
The Market/Merriman streets intersection will be closed to traffic due to resurfacing of the intersection. Work will be done after hours to minimise the impact on motorists.
The intersection will be closed from 18:00 on 13 February and be opened for traffic again by 06:00 on 14 February. Detour signage will be erected to inform road users.
Extra care is to be taken by road users and pedestrians throughout the duration of the construction period. Adherence to temporary road signage and markings will be required.
